Where can I host a node.js app for free?

If you want your application stays up for free at the initial stage and would likely to deploy at a high scale in future? you could go for these free trial hosting services.
  1. Red Hat OpenShift: provides 60 days of sandbox trial. But you may not deploy the application as you sign up. Because of the huge demand, you might wait in the queue, and get notified with an email when your free plan is activated.
  2. AWS Free Tier: Amazon with its popular Amazon web services, it is providing a free tier benefit for 12 months where you can create and deploy your own Linux machines, link up to custom domains, all for free. Credit card/debit card is required to sign up.
  3. Microsoft Azure: Azure provides 12 months of free trial with almost all their services to free and they also provide approx $200 to spend on their services before the first 30 days of the trail. Make sure you do have a credit or debit card before you sign up for a free account.
  4. Google Cloud Platform: Like as Azure, Google also provides 12 months of free trial period but with $300 credit which can be used throughout the year. Be ready with your credit card before you hit the link.
  5. Digital Ocean: I am not sure until when this offer exists. However, they are providing $100 credit to host for up to 60 days. They state that it is easier to deploy the applications. A credit card is required to signup.
Now here comes the best part. The platforms where you can host your node applications for free forever but with the limitations.
  1. IBM Cloud: IBM is offering lifetime free hosting service with 256MB of cloud foundry memory. No cards are needed to sign up. The limitations are only one app instance for an account and need to renew the free plan for every month. You must pay to link a custom domain.
  2. Heroku: Heroku is widely popular for providing free sandbox forever. No card is required to sign up but if you need to host in a custom domain, it needs the card for verification (nothing to pay). But keep in mind that it is one of the costliest services when your app is getting scaled.
  3. opeNode: It consists of a sandbox plan but your application code will be publicly available to everyone. If you don't bother about your code, you could try this one, A paid plan is needed if you deserve for a custom domain.
  4. Cloudnode: One more good hosting service with the limited 150K requests per month, you can also get 250 MB of MongoDB storage for the free plan. However, I always go with mlab for the database. Have a look at this.
This took me a lot of time and effort to wrap things up. Please support me with a vote.
